Pilar es licenciada en Bellas Artes (UCM Madrid, 1988), y desde el 1990 ha trabajado como profesora en las especialidades de dibujo artístico, técnico, arqueológico, grabado y técncias pictóricas en centros de Enseñanza Secundaria y Escuelas de Arte y Restauración. Desarrolla simultáneamente su actividad artística y docente, siendo el proceso de enseñanza donde encuentra un espacio de reflexión constante.

Experimenta con diferentes técnicas artísticas, pero es el dibujo, el que en estos momentos, por su sobriedad y aparente simplicidad, con la inmeditez, desnudez y sinceridad que es inherente a esta técnica, Pilar está desarrollando como recurso principal en un viaje inconsciente de afloraciones e introspección. En sus propias palabras: .
Los personajes surgen como creaciones híbridas de la mente y la fisonomía humanas
en las que lo emocional se sirve de elementos formales para articular los sentimientos
y los estados de ánimo. Se trata de seres anónimos, no muestran emociones
extremas, sólo aparecen como presencias frágiles, efímeras, en un instante de la
existencia temporal.
Es innegable la importancia del inconsciente que genera sensaciones intensas que nacen y son reconocidas durante el proceso de trabajo. Del mismo modo que no existe una imagen previa al sueño o a la secuencia de acontecimientos que se dan en él, tampoco existe en los dibujos de mis rostros una idea preconcebida inicial ya que son el fruto de mi elaboración inconsciente y de la identificación del “sentimiento” con la apariencia que va surgiendo en un proceso en el que cada trazo da pie a otro en una sucesión de causalidades inconscientes.

Pilar has a degree in Fine Arts (UCM Madrid, 1988), and since 1990 she has worked as a teacher in the specialties of artistic, technical, archaeological drawing, engraving and pictorial techniques in Secondary Education centers and Art and Restoration Schools. She simultaneously develops her artistic and teaching activity, in the teaching process she finds a space for constant analysis.
She experiments with different artistic techniques, but it is drawing, which at this moment, due to its sobriety and apparent simplicity, with the immediacy, nakedness and sincerity that is inherent to this technique, Pilar is developing as the main resource in an unconscious journey of outcrops and introspection. In her own words:
“The characters emerge as hybrid creations of the human mind and physiognomy in which the emotional uses formal elements to articulate feelings and states of mind. These are anonymous beings, they do not show extreme emotions, they only appear as fragile, ephemeral presences, in an instant of temporal existence.
The importance of the unconscious, which generates intense sensations that are born and recognized during the work process, is undeniable. In the same way that there is no image prior to the dream or the sequence of events that occur in it, there is also no initial preconceived idea in the drawings of my faces since they are the fruit of my unconscious elaboration and the identification of the “feeling.” “with the appearance that emerges in a process in which each stroke gives rise to another in a succession of unconscious causalities.”
